La historiadora de las matemáticas Doris Mary Cannell (1913-2000) nació un 19 de julio.
Fue maestra, formadora de profesorado e historiadora de las matemáticas, muy conocida por sus artículos y su libro sobre la vida y trabajo del matemático George Green, científico autodidacta y figura esencial en física.
